Demographic Intelligence advisor Lyman Stone reviews Empty Planet:The Shock of Global Population Decline in the Wall Street Journal in which Canadian social scientist Darrell Bricker and journalist John Ibbitson issue a vital warning to the world. They make a case for “the great defining event of the twenty-first century,” which they say, “will occur in three decades, give or take, when the global population starts to decline.” Their conclusion is that once the population decline begins, it will never end.
